In St. Petersburg, the arrangement of the bicycle lane began on Yury Gagarin Ave. The route will be created upon the request of the Municipal Center for Parking Management as part of the development of a network of cycling routes.
This bike path is part of the cycling route “Ave. Yuri Gagarin – st. Tipanova – Slavy Avenue to the Internationalist Park – Slavy Avenue to Sofiiskaya Street, with a total length of about 6 km.
According to the concluded state contract, work on the arrangement of the cycle path is scheduled to be completed no later than August 30, 2019.
Currently, 28 cycling routes with a total length of 107.0 km are available for cyclists in St. Petersburg. Until the end of 2019, in St. Petersburg, it is planned to deploy another 7 new cycle routes with a length of about 32.4 km.
